Linda Henry and Isabelle Carrick took part in a Supermarket Sweep-style challenge at Nisa Local in Nitshill on Craigbank Drive.

The pals each had 60 seconds to run around the shop and fill their baskets high with the total being paid in full by Snappy Shopper this week.

Linda took her turn in between her shifts while working for Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership.

She went first and filled her basket with treats with her basket coming to £147.50, which she vowed to give out to the people in her care.

Speaking to the Glasgow Times she said: “That was really good fun.

“I grabbed a lot of sweets, biscuits, crisps, and toilet rolls. It is all for my clients that I do home care for.

“That will put a smile on their face and give them a wee cake after their tea.

“That motivates me going round. I like to take them a wee treat when I go in so they will be well chuffed. This will keep them going for days.

“I had a big operation on my ankle a few months ago but it didn’t slow me down, I knew exactly what I was after.”

Isabelle took her turn after Linda and also decided to focus on sweet treats and also pet food for her dog.

She signed up at the last minute and was worried about her mobility for the challenge, but ended up doing a brilliant job with her basket coming to £127.46.

Isabelle said: “That was really great. I grabbed lots of biscuits and dog food for my aktia.

“I am 78 so I didn’t think I could run around, I wasn’t prepared but I just found out about this.

“It was a surprise but really good. I enjoyed it.”
