HealthPoint Expands Community Health Services with Mobile Dental Clinic

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – HealthPoint announced the launch of their new Mobile Dental Clinic to support community health needs across the Greater Brazos Valley. It is designed to provide essential healthcare services to areas that lack convenient access to clinic locations.

“So our mobile dental unit is a way for us to provide access to dental care to those who may not otherwise be able to have access to it, especially in our rural areas, we’re looking for ways to reach out and provide that access to care,” said Jennifer Reynolds, HealthPoint’s Operations Director.

Dr. Theresa Foreman will be the lead dentist for the Mobile Dental Unit, which is currently focused on pediatric dental care for children under 13 years old. Regular dental visits are crucial for children’s health, as they help prevent tooth decay and gum disease, and promote overall oral hygiene.

“And so for me, it means so much to give back to my community and to help children that don’t necessarily have the same access to care that children in bigger communities do,” said Dr. Foreman.

According to Dr. Foreman, the mobile clinic’s pediatric dental services will include exams, cleanings, and sealants, which are vital in protecting young teeth from cavities and ensuring a healthy smile.

“One thing is, a lot of times during the summer, we get hot, a little dehydrated, and the first thing kids will reach for is a sports drink or a soda and both of those are very harmful to your teeth so we wanna try to get that water drink instead,” said Dr. Foreman.

HealthPoint does bill insurance, but if the patient does not have insurance, they do have an eligibility program available to help with the costs.
