Rangers transfer state of play sees five man Nils Koppen shopping list assessed

Must read

Nils Koppen has several irons in the fire as the Rangers recruitment chief looks to build Philippe Clement the type of team capable of winning the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers manager knows that the squad needs to be better balanced and that more players who fit the player trading model are targeted.

Three have been signed in Oscar Cortes, Jefte and Leon Balogun with Rangers linked with several other transfers that could be completed soon.

Rangers transfer latest with five names linked to Ibrox moves

Koppen has been in Mexico for the TransferRoom conference looking to complete a similar deal to the one that saw Cortes arrive in January.

These are the recent deals that have been reported as Rangers look to make a fast start to the transfer window.

Albion Rrahmani

Koppen has held talks with Rapid Bucharest over the transfer of Albion Rrahmani.

The 22-year old striker only moved for £600,000 last summer but a bid in the region of £5m is said to be getting discussed.

The 6ft 2 inch tall Kosovo international is attracting plenty of interest but Rangers are leading the race.

Yusuf Kabadayi

Bayern Munich’s flying winger has just finished a season on loan at Schalke and Rangers are reported to be bringing the Germany Under-20 international across for a medical with a fee arranged between £1-1.5m.

The 20-year old right-footer is capable of playing on either flank and has the sort of pace that will terrorise SPFL defenders.

Andres Montano

The Mexico international was touted for a move to Rangers by his agent, however, it was speculation that was short lived after he decided to stay in his homeland and join Cruz Azul.

Thomas Galdames

With just six months left on his contract, the no-nonsense defender is looking to make the move to Europe.

His club aren’t in a rush to sell though and Koppen will be negotiating an early release rather than a pre-contract agreement.

The versatile defender can play at left-back or centre-half which could clear the way for both Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies to be sold and raise much needed funds.

Damian Garcia

The powerhouse midfielder is in the same boat as Galdames in that his contract is set to expire expire at the end of the season.

Garcia is probably the player that Koppen will want to get over the line as quickly as possibly given the departures of Ryan Jack and John Lundstram.

Rangers counting the days to get deals done.

The window opens on the 14th of June with the international schedule interfering with Rangers plans to rebuild a squad in desperate need of repair.

The ducks are being lined up in a row so that when the window opens, the social media team is the only department that has to work long hours.

More names will emerge over the coming days and weeks depending on who stays and who leaves but it looks like preparations are already well under way.

These are the five names who have been filling the back pages, can Koppen get them over the line in the coming days?
