Applications for Savannah business incubator program now open

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Local entrepreneurs have a chance for up-close-and personal coaching on how to get their business off the ground, and even a chance to meet with investors.

The program, called Launch Savannah, is put on by the City of Savannah in partnership with Creative Coast, a non-profit that’s goal is to connect entrepreneurs and other industry professionals.

Applications for the program, which could be a once in a lifetime opportunity, are now open.

“They can apply today to bring their business from idea to startup to reality, right here in this 12-week program,” says Nick Palumbo, Executive Director of Creative Coast.

Launch Savannah has 15 spots open. The lucky 15 people that are accepted will get tailored, face-to-face experience with professionals from the industry they’re trying to break into over a 12-week period.

“Sometimes the best way to learn it is from those that have been there before. So we’re gonna provide those free for these businesses, and these opportunities so at the end of 12 weeks, they have a viable small business that they can promote right here in the community,” says Palumbo.

Launch Savannah is free of charge, so the only thing applicants need to commit to the program: their time. The sessions are two hours, once a week. The program can even potentially help with getting funding- which could benefit both the business, and the Savannah community as a whole.

“We will have angel investors there at the end of the 12-week period for these businesses to pitch to and offer an opportunity for them to invest in these companies as they are growing right here in our community,” says Palumbo.

Applications are open until May 17th.
