(WFSB) – Barstool Sports founder and pizza review king David Portnoy stopped by some pizza spots in Connecticut on Wednesday.

Portnoy stopped by Sicily and Mondo in Middletown, and Sapore in Old Lyme.

“I walk to the counter I’m looking at him I’m like, oh jeeze, it’s prez. We just gave him our normal pizza,” said Tim Hedrick, General Manager of Mondo.

“He was just like hey, uh I have an order I’m like okay, just like a normal person,” said Jordan Garibay, Host at Sicily Coal Fired Pizza.

“It feels good that he came, it really does,” said Sabrina Prifitera, Manager at Sicily Coal Fired Pizza.

The host and manager at Sicily had the shock of their lives.

“I was just sitting there with a dopey smile on my face,” Garibay said. “He was very low key… to keep a low profile. He seemed nice, not rude, not disrespectful, not crazy.”

“We’re happy to have him it’s a dream, we’ve been here for 13 years and ever since he started doing this we’re just very grateful, very excited that he came and saw us,” said Hedrick. “He just shows up like he does, no announcement and you have to have a good quality product and that’s what we have.”

“We all kind of saw him because people were taking pictures so we were like what’s going on. It was pretty cool to see,” Prifitera said.

They have some thoughts on what their scores might be but we’ll have to wait for the reviews to come out.

Portnoy has given high scores to several pizza places in Connecticut in recent years, including in New Haven and Meriden.
