Credentialling ceremony held for Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy students

Must read

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – In a first of its kind event, Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy (TCTA) seniors who have attained a college or career credential while as a student were recognized recently.

The credentials tell employers that these students have mastered their studies. Having them already in hand saves a company time for training and money if someone has already earned those credentials before they begin employment.

One student explained how having credentials while still in high school has set her up for success.

“So, I actually took two classes at TCTA,” said Anushka Nichani. “I took the intro course for health sciences. And then I took the patient care class which is called HOSA. So, I got to shadow at different hospitals. I got to learn the basics and I eventually got to be patient care tech certified. So I can actually go out and be a patient care tech as a senior in high school.”

The event was hosted by administrators at the Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy.
