BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – While anglers in the Gulf Coast Billfish Classic were reeling in some big prizes, businesses at Point Cadet Marina and the surrounding area also scored a nice catch.
After a busy and productive weekend, due mostly to the 81 boats that took part in the Billfish Classic, Danny Pitalo says his business at Goernflo’s Tackle Shop is off and running as the busy summer continues.
“We had 81 boats, a lot of big fish, and a lot of participation from all over,” Pitalo said.
Pitalo also says he hopes storm season will be kind to the Coast. His bait and tackle shop is a trailer that can be moved if a storm threatens the area. He says he hasn’t had to move since Hurricane Ida in 2021.
