Marion County Health officials issues rabies warnings for two areas

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Marion County Health officials are issuing a warning about rabies after two wild animals tested positive.

The raccoons with rabies were found in ‘Rainbow Lakes Estates’ and in the Southwest Ocala area.

In the video above, you can see the areas where the rabies alert is in effect.

Health officials are warning residents to avoid any wild animals in the area.

The affected areas are within the area of the roads below.

The first area is between the roads:

  • Southwest 52nd Street
  • Southwest 80th Street
  • Southwest 80th Avenue
  • Southwest 110th Avenue

The second area is between the roads:

  • Southwest Pine Bluffs Boulevard
  • Southwest Tiger Lake Boulevard/ Southwest 59th Lane
  • Southwest Bluegill Road
  • Southwest Persimmon Lane
