LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The PGA Championship is next week and the sports organization is using it to introduce people to a career in golf.

Saturday, PGA invited high schoolers, college students and other professionals to get a behind-the-scenes look as Valhalla Golf Club gets ready to host the PGA Championship.

They had experts talking about all the different jobs you can get in the industry from club design to tournament running to volunteer operations and much more.

“Wherever we can get the word out on working in golf, really giving back to this wonderful game that we all love, that’s the main goal is just providing those opportunities and pathways for those to learn more,” Matt Hiner of PGA of America said. “And hopefully plant a seed that will grow later down the line.”

The Championship begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.
