Stateline business leaders and community members tour area high schools

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Stateline business leaders kill 2 birds with one stone, meeting with potential new employees and exploring innovative programs that will help shape the future workforce.

On May 21, 22, and 23, business leaders are guided around 3 stateline district high schools, discovering firsthand the innovative programs each school contains.

Featured programs cover a wide range, from welding to health sciences.

Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce President Caitlin Pusateri says this is a good opportunity for high schoolers to make connections with possible employers.

“This is a really good opportunity for the future employers to understand kind of the experience of these students, and then any time that you can pique the interest of the business community to understand, ‘Hey that class was so cool’, maybe an employer can come back and volunteer or they can start mentoring through the Rockford Promise program.”
