BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The University of Vermont is partnering with the University of New England to expand medical education for college graduates interested in rural health care.

Under the agreement, students who complete UVM’s Post-Bacc Pre-Med program are guaranteed an interview for UNE’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree program. Officials say it’s a way to equip students or career changers to gain the necessary health and science prerequisites and pursue paths in health care.

John McMahon spoke with UVM’s Maggie Lambert about the new partnership.
